The wrap dress is my go-to when it comes to looking elegant and dressed up, but it can also be dressed down to be casual yet ladylike. I got this dress years ago from Poshmark after purchasing a wrap dress for the first time from Forever 21 back when that was my holy grail of shopping. I was 19 at the time and was wondering why I got so many compliments on this simple look!
It turns out you don’t have to peacock with such a statement to get people’s attention. A lot of my most elegant moments have been understated with doing less.

You stand out with this dress, because it’s one of those silhouettes that you have to carry with good posture and act a certain way to be modest. In other words, you are more attractive in a delightfully ladylike way in character and appearance.
This is perfect for going from a casual lunch with your girls to an elegant evening with the husband. To be less formal in the day, you can style it with a chic cardigan. After sunset, a dark blazer or tailored coat to keep warm will suffice and then some.
You can also play with the length. The longer the sleeves and hem, the more dressed up and conservative. The shorter the sleeves and hem, the less formal. It’s definitely a timeless classic that belongs in any wardrobe no matter the age, body shape, or season.
